Day 4: Share a Healthy Recipe

Today’s blogging challenge is to share a healthy recipe. It could be one of mine or one of my faves. But instead of sharing my favorite salmon dish — because, let’s face it, you can find a million recipes out there — I thought I’d share a recipe you can’t get just anywhere. This is a recipe for a healthy you.

In order to be a healthy you, there’s a lot of things that need to happen. But don’t let that scare you! The kitchen is a beautiful place. Magic happens here.

Please keep in mind that all of these measurements are to taste and you really can’t have too much of any one thing. It’s one of those recipes where your ancestors speak to you and let you know when to stop pouring.

This is a great on-the-go recipe. Throw it all in a blender in the mornings for a kickstart breakfast smoothie or toss all the bits together for a soothing stew. Either way, you can’t lose!

Recipe for a Healthier You:

1 cup laughter (or more if you can handle the ab workout)
3 cups compassion — keep pouring, even. This world doesn’t have enough.
4 oz sadness to maintain perspective and gratitude
1 oz tears of joy
2 oz regret to keep you humble
1 tbsp heartache so that you don’t forget your worth
1 oz tequila for sass (Pour with gravity. No one’s looking.)
6 oz adventurous spirit

For a chill breakfast smoothie: Place all ingredients in a blender over ice. Blend until smooth. Supplement with your favorite organic fruits and vegetables. Drink fresh.

For a hearty stew: Place all ingredients into a large pot or slow cooker. Pour 3 cups of undying love over all and allow to lightly simmer for 5-6 hours. Once finished, serve with a slice of garlic infused tenacity. For a little extra, sprinkle with determination and zest for life to taste.
